Road closures for City Park work - 26/07/2010
Channing Way, the road between the Magistrates’ Court and City Hall, is no longer open to traffic.
The move happened last weekend (25 July) as part of the City Park development changes. A new bus canopy has been erected on Hall Ings and other bus stops have also been relocated elsewhere around the City Park site.
New traffic lights at the bottom of Little Horton Lane and bus lane onto Princes Way have also become operational.
The changes mark a key point in the construction of the six-acre City Park and contractors have fenced off the site in preparation of building the UK’s largest city centre water feature.
The fencing means that some pedestrian routes are affected but the routes in front of the Centenary Square building and around City Hall remain open.
