Corporate Social Responsibility

The Chamber supports activities outside its 'core work', engaging with organisations from various social sectors and communities.

We also link local companies up with other activities and organisations wanting to strengthen their links with business. We believe that cross-sectoral working, also known as partnership working, can enhance communications and understanding between different communities.

Charities and other voluntary/community organisations often approach the Chamber looking for business people to help with their activities.  These appeals will be posted in the Chamber magazine, businessplus, and on the portal.  Please call 01274 230057 if you have a post to fill or wish to promote an activity, event, etc.

Be Involved Programme

This is a new programme which has been launched to encourage businesses, no matter what the size or sector, to get involved in a variety of activities such as volunteering or mentoring that will contribute to the social and economic regeneration of the district. Opportunities are promoted in our monthly magazine 'businessplus'.

It's a business brokerage service that aims to engage businesses in helping to turn around deprived neighbourhoods - the Be Involved programme is run from Bradford Chamber and aids businesses looking for such opportunities. Visit the website here or call the Be Involved team on 01274 230086

Examples of other companies engaging with local communities include:

Yorkshire Water

Constantly engaged in community initiatives, including mentoring, speakers’ panels and environmental support.  Past activities include when the region’s water company joined with two other local companies, Loop and Provident, to decorate the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Keighley.  Sue Hesse of Manorlands said: “It’s great that these businesses allowed their employees to decorate the hospice. We didn’t have the resources to do this ourselves."

Business in the Community

BITC supports boosting links between different sectors and is active locally and throughout the region.
